The Tour
All potential families are required to tour all levels of our school. Tours are best scheduled during school hours. While observing the programs, you can appreciate the various educational choices at River Valley School and the wonderful school community you would be joining.
The Application for Admission
All new applicants are required to submit a completed Application Form and Consent for Personal Information Form with:
- A $100 application fee for Alberta residents (nonrefundable)

- A $1000 application fee for International students (nonrefundable)
|
- Copies of recent school reports (if school age)
|
- Copy of your child's birth certificate
|
Acceptance
Acceptance is based on several factors:
- Most important is the match of the family's and the school's education goals for your child and our ability to serve your child's needs. This is evaluated through visits to the School, phone conversations and available school records.

- RVS does not have formal academic testing; however, evaluation, classroom visits and conversations with teachers and the School Administration will ensure a fit for both the family and the school.

- A family is notified of acceptance either by telephone or email.

Family Membership
Membership in the River Valley School Society is automatic when you complete your child's registration and is renewed annually so long as your child is enrolled at RVS and all fees are up-to-date. Members are able to receive notice of and attend all meetings of the Members, to receive the annual report from the Board and annual audited financial statements for the school. Membership encourages democratic voting participation in our school and allows one vote per family. A membership list is available to all members annually. Members must support the school's values and objectives and behave in accordance with those values.
